Active and Passive Voice Based on Tenses

NOTES:

  1. In real cases, not all sentences in the active voice have direct objects. Since only active sentences with direct objects can be turned into passive, in this blog, direct objects are purposely added to completely emphasize how the process is done in each sentence.

  2. There are only two Prepositions of Agencyby (for person/people) and with (for things/objects, animate or inanimate). In the entire blog, only the preposition of agency "with" is used because all example sentences comprise the same person/people as the subject.

  3. The active voice emphasizes the subject more, so the use of each verb type depends on the subject— the doer or performer of the action words.

  4. The passive voice emphasizes the direct object, so the use of each verb type depends on the direct object— the receiver of the action words or the one being acted upon by the subject.
